I wish we were we need more sponsors. But no, it's it's a similar logo. But we are really excited to have our logo in the background and really excited about potential new sponsors. So you can also sponsor us on our or any of the things that we have. So we're really excited about that. All right.

Harry Brelsford

So David, you just dropped a piece literally today? What will your legacy be? So let's let's bounce off that what's the piece? And I'm sure we can come up with some questions.

Danny and David Brown

That's a great, that's a great question. And what Dan and I talked about in our most recent episode was called leaving a legacy. And we wanted to address how leaders, business owners, members of the C suite, we all have legacies that we're building, we might be looking at it from a positive perspective, it might be in a negative perspective. But regardless of where you are, you can build a positive, long lasting legacy. And that's what we covered in our podcast episode. We've talked about everything from great legacies that we can look at in the past as examples, bad legacies, and then five simple exercises you could do to help build your legacy when you think about the next generation.

Harry Brelsford

Yeah, yeah, interesting. So So Danny, maybe you lay out a couple of them one through five, or 123. Or

Danny and David Brown

I'll let David list the top five. But really, at the end of the day, it's all about making sure that you are consciously aware. A lot of times we think that you can only leave a legacy if you're a millionaire or a billionaire, you can get a street named after a building named after your college and a university named after you. But no, you can leave a legacy today with your people and your people can actually live out what you started. You don't have to wait until you become a multimillionaire to leave a legacy you can start today. So we we gave five good practicals for that. Dave can go over that if you want. But it's really simple process in order to make it happen. Because each of us today, whether we like it or not, we're leaving a legacy even with our children. So it's very important to to just keep it simple. Yeah.

Harry Brelsford

All right. Well, yeah,

Danny and David Brown

they've laid out Sure sure. The the simple exercises that Dan and I established in that episode, including number one, write your own eulogy. And so if you're going to be able to be there at your funeral, what would you say about yourself? And then the kicker is, are you living that out now. And if you're not, then make those changes. So the first exercise is write your you your own eulogy. The second exercise is imagine you five years 10 years or even 10 years down the road, interviewing yourself. What questions would you ask have you, your accomplishments, things that you've done, the impact you've made on your community? Interview yourself. The third, exercise is simple. Make a bucket list? Write out a bucket list. And make sure you answer the two questions of will you have any regrets? And will there be anything undone or left unsaid in your life and then go live it out. Don't wait to retire. Don't wait to your near your deathbed, go live out your bucket list. The fourth is write a letter or create a video for your children or your employees. Think about walking your daughter down the aisle. If you couldn't be there, what would you want your daughter to know about you? Do the video for her, do the letter for her or even do one for your employees. Let them know how proud you are of their involvement in the efforts to build your organization. And then the fifth one is simple. Do a corporate cultural assessment. When was the last time you ever had that done? Because having this done by independent non bias company will be able to show you if you're on the path to building the type of organization you want, thus impacting the legacy you want to build your company, your organization, your people will actually reveal if you're building the right type of legacy.

Harry Brelsford

Yeah, yeah, I had I had this talk in a different variation recently. Danny, as you know, I beat the heat and went back to Seattle for essentially the month of August. And it's all good business and pleasure. And I was talking to my my sister and her husband. And they're going through some transition sold the big house up north of Seattle at some point back in April, perfect timing of before the rates. And and they're in transition, right? They're a little bit older than myself and decided what to do. And what I found when I explained to them I'm pretty comfortable with where I sit today. So I said today the Texas Hill Country about 30 miles west of Austin and on a thing called Creek Road, which is gorgeous for biking and so on. And I said that's it. I'm done. You No, hopefully at a relatively young age and more more years to come. But it was interesting that they were uncomfortable with that specificity. And then I thought about it more in the flight home. And I think Westerners are uncomfortable with the I have the final answer. It's not quite the right way to say it. But you know what I'm saying, versus my little time in India and with Easterners, they're in a better place of acceptance that yeah, that's it. And I don't know, I want you to to bounce off that because they were a little startled that I could sit here and make that decision that I don't have to move again. I mean, I'm done.

Danny and David Brown

I love the where you're at in your phase of your career as well, and how you built a legacy with SMB Nation, you continue to build a legacy now in the cannabis space. So yeah, that's great. We should be interviewing you because you're actually doing some great phenomenal work. But you're absolutely correct. If you look at weight, the way things are going in America, you now and looking at more and more people looking at Eastern medicine as well. So there are going to be some more philosophies around the world. And the world is so much bigger than just the US. And the fact that you're doing something that is so unique, when it's not unique around the world, but it's unique here is what we call being a game changer. So in essence, you're going to be creating this legacy and the way that other people look at you and how they need to think when they get to a certain stage in their career, their professional career as well as in their life. So I think that you're doing a great thing. You're actually being a trendsetter setter at this moment. So this is exciting.

Harry Brelsford

There we go. So, yeah, you know, and I'll add to that, as I talk. Many listeners know I grew up in Alaska, stay in touch with the Alaskans. The oils gone and talk about a state and transition. They they're definitely looking at pivots. And a lot of pivots include migrations, which animals have always done when the water runs out, right, they migrate across the savanna to find water. And that's a common talk with my friends back home, as they basically say, and again, in my pure age range. I don't know if I want to live here. I don't know what I want to do. And it's exhausting. It's exhausting. I mean, I'm there friend, I'm here to listen, I don't know what I can offer. But having made the decision I've made for today, not that decisions can't change. But gentlemen, at sure it, it gives back a lot of energy. I just don't have to fight these demons. If one of you want to comment on that. Then Danny, I want to talk about the big big.

Danny and David Brown

Well, I will say this, this is David and I appreciate the focus in the question. You've matured to a point in your life, Harry, and I think many of us aspire to be in the same place. Well, we've accepted that where we are, we've got to be able to leave something that will make the lasting impact for a lot of people that feel as if things are undone, things are unsaid things are unaccomplished. That's why there's that spirit of regret, or that's why that's there's that spirit of a sense of longing and wanting more. And so for me, it's finding out a new why it's finding out a new driver for you. And when they say that you get past that age, you're now in emptiness, where I am. It's kind of like, well, what's new? What's next? What's next is your next accomplishment is your next great opportunity. And so I'm glad that you found that phase in that place in your career. And hopefully, that will be something that they can gather as well. Maybe they'll ask more questions, like, what do you think about this, that you're finding this sense of gratification? What is it that you're doing that you're finding a sense that you're, you're driven again, for something different, and they'll do the same? So I would say it's a great journey and something that Dan, I will ask from time to time of our clients to make sure that they're still going after their Why's the areas that they feel most passionate about? Yeah. Hey, Danny, wouldn't

Harry Brelsford

we have a minute left before I have to go watch the Days of Our Lives soap operas, since I don't have anything to do anymore? But what's the big big?

Danny and David Brown

Thank you very much for the question. You always have something to do we need your leadership down here in Austin, I'm trying to convince you to take over the presidency for the iamcp. But we'll talk about that later. Yeah, that's the Taylor business group is a peer to peer coaching group. We're over 250 managed service providers and IT services providers get together. They were part of a peer group based upon their specialization and also upon their annual revenue, and they received coaching and education to continue to scale and ramp up their business. And for the great thing about it is that for these 250, MSPs, they did half a billion dollars in revenue last year alone. So we're gonna be at this annual conference call the TBG. Big, big conference, not just a big conference. It's a big, big conference. Well, I'll be teaching a class on cybersecurity. And David will be teaching class on public speaking so we're really excited to be meeting with the other vendors as well as with our MSPs and about two weeks from now, believe it or not, okay, so
