A Newbie’s View of the D&H Mid-Atlantic Show

Articles

dandhjpgThis past Thursday, I was lucky enough to be the SMB Nation representative at the D&H Distributing Mid-Atlantic Summer Show in Hershey, PA.

Although I am not new to the trade show experience, having worked at a few of our own shows as event staff, the exhibitor side was a new view of the event portrait for me. So I am giving my highlights below to you today, as I report from my family’s home in Northern VA.

First of all, I’d like to take a moment to thank the D&H staff for having us at the event. It was well-attended by MSPs, VARs and even retail buyers (for example, I was able to meet a few very nice people from Sears). I am still working on getting the total attendance, but a conservative estimate is about 800 people. The exhibit hall was full and featured a Red Carpet booth complete with a Joan Rivers lookalike.

While at my hallway booth, I signed a lot of the attendee passports for a free Samsung SmartPC drawing, but more importantly, I was able to talk to a lot of the attendees about our upcoming Fall Conference in Redmond, September 26-28. Most of the attendees were excited about the new subject matter focused on emerging technologies, primarily Office 365! In fact, this subject was also a facet of the training conversations at the D&H show (with a presentation from Microsoft).
