ZyXEL logoZyXEL Communications is now offering complete series of Layer 2 10G and gigabit managed switches designed with enterprise-class features for uninterruptable operation, redundancy,

optimal routing and bandwidth management and high power Power Over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) support. The 3700 series includes a combination of 10G / gigabit, 24 / 48 ports, PoE+ / non-PoE switches that are ideally suited to data centers, SMB core networks, and other mission-critical PoE applications. The 24 and 48 port XGS3700 series 10G switches come with four 10G SFP+ uplink ports for flexible copper or fiber deployments. In addition to uplink, the 10G ports can also be directly connected to virtual server and NAS / SAN storage devices using ZyXEL's DAC10G SPF+ cables for facilitating bandwidth hungry applications. The GS3700 series gigabit switches support four gigabit SFP ports. All 3700 series switches support IPv6 for future-ready networks.

The ZyXEL XGS3700/GS3700 series features no single point of failure (NSPOF) hardware and software to provide the resiliency needed for non-stop business continuity. Its high redundancy hardware architecture includes dual, internal power supplies, which not only ensures 100 percent uptime in the event of a power supply failure, but also save rack space compared to external power supplies. Additionally, both the fan module and the power supply modules are hot-swappable to enable zero downtime troubleshooting.

The new series supports Equal Cost Multipath Routing (ECMP) and Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) for increased network availability and reliability. With ECMP, the XGS3700/GS3700 series switch can distribute traffic across multiple high-bandwidth links to increase bandwidth availability. VRRP provides a dynamic and automatic approach to virtual router redundancy. It allows several first-hop virtual routers to dynamically share an IP address, with one assigned as master and the others as backup. Should the master fail, a backup is automatically assigned to fill its place. The result is improved network resiliency and lower administrative overhead compared to running dynamic routing protocols or client discovery mechanisms.

The PoE models comply with the IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standard and provide 30W per port for an industry-leading PoE power budget of up to 1000 watts. PoE makes the XGS3700 and GS3700 ideal for high performance WLAN networks, VoIP applications, and surveillance and monitoring solutions.
