Here we go again! As I do each week, I am really enjoying bringing our readers a quick round-up of the blog coverage I didn’t manage to get to during the busy week prior.
Last week was rounded out at the end by the Easter/Passover holiday weekend here in the U.S., with many of us celebrating these holidays this past weekend. Friday was a bit slow, but business as usual for most of us, right before the weekend festivities began.
This past Friday also marked the official closing of the SMB 150 voting process. As of 11:59 pm PST last Friday, voting is now complete, and the fate of the 150 now lies in the hands of our SMB 150 judges. The process should be complete by the end of this week, with announcements going out next week of who the 150 will be for 2012! Winners will also be invited to attend our gala SMB 150 live event (sponsored by BlackBerry) on May 16 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles. 1.) N-able Launches Next-Gen N-Central 8.2 Platform: N-able Technologies has launched N-central 8.2, the next generation of its managed services technology automation platform.
Available immediately as an on-premise or hosted solution, N-central 8.2 offers a comprehensive, fully equipped, reliable and tech-friendly RMM solution and complementary toolset. Featuring asset and warranty discovery and reporting, task automation, endpoint security and self-healing, N-central 8.2 is easy to deploy and takes technology innovation two-steps further with its new, integrated DirectConnect remote control and management module and centralized backup and recovery solution powered by CA Technologies.
In addition, N-able’s DirectConnect module makes it easier and faster for technicians to remotely monitor customer devices and proactively fix issues on their desktop and server systems. DirectConnect leverages a global network of relay servers to help ensure that performance and reliability is maintained wherever the technician is connecting from and going to.
The new DirectConnect module is available as a free upgrade to existing N-able partners and is expected to save MSPs thousands of dollars by increasing technicians’ productivity and eliminating the need for – and costs associated with – standalone remote control licenses.
N-central 8.2 is currently available. Existing N-able partners who have a current maintenance and support plan will be able to quickly upgrade to N-central 8.2 at no charge.
2.) Dell OEM Partner Program to Help Manufacturers Deliver Faster Products, Services: Dell last week launched its OEM Partner Program to help manufacturers go to market with Dell solutions quicker and keep up with the changing demands of their customers. The program grants a wide range of industry leading partners with increased access to resources from Dell OEM Solutions to better serve the needs of organizations.
The Dell OEM Partner Program was developed to be a highly customizable, one-stop-shop for companies. Organized into OEM Channel Partners and OEM Solution Partners, the program includes various levels and types of partnerships which tailor support according to customer needs.
Dell channel partners complement Dell solutions by providing value-added services such as custom hardware and software integration, final assembly and testing, financing options, and inventory management. Partners can leverage Dell OEM Solutions’ vast supply-chain network to build specialized solutions for manufacturers.
3.) ConnectWise Opens Registration for Q2 Regional User Group: The ConnectWise team said it will travel to 10 cities, worldwide to reach partners to connect, collaborate and grow. The PSA announced registration is now open for its second quarter regional user group meetings.
ConnectWise quarterly user groups offer opportunities to learn from knowledgeable ConnectWise Consultants and collaborate with peers in a free full-day training and networking event. Like the annual IT Nation event in November, meetings help ConnectWise partners improve business processes, master new features, and network with their peers.
To better meet the needs of regional partners and reach more partners than ever, Southeast, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic meeting locations have changed. ConnectWise User Group meetings will be held as follows:

• North Central: Chicago, May 1
• Canada: Toronto, May 16

4.) BlackBerry World to be Held May 1-3 in Orlando, FL: The annual BlackBerry World event is set to be held May 1-3 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, FL. This year’s event will allow attendees to connect with RIM experts, industry leaders and the BlackBerry community, as well as learn innovative ways to boost business productivity. Sessions will also cover RIM’s vision for the future of mobile computing, which is based on the upcoming BlackBerry 10 platform, and also specific BlackBerry knowledge that can be applied in everyday business and productivity.

5.) Modular DPS Launches Modular 360 Partner Program for Cloud Data Protection: Modular Data Protection Services (DPS) said last week it is offering a new program for IT Services Providers looking for new methods to address growing customer demand for cloud data protection services.
