Rackspace Announces Plans to Create New Global Cloud Network Program

Rackspace logoToday, Rackspace Hosting announced plans for a global program designed to help the company expand the reach of their cloud network. In this program, Rackspace would build and run public clouds on their OpenStack system for service providers.

“The creation of this network allows for different providers, in different regions, with different service characteristics to link together to better serve the cloud users around the world with a fully interoperable global ‘cloud of clouds’. Rackspace is passionate about leading this charge and helping service providers capitalize on the expanded network to better serve their customers,” said Lanham Napier, CEO for Rackspace.

This program is currently aimed at serving large service providers and telco companies, and is expected to include access to Rackspace tech, including Cloud hardware and software with automated testing and updates from the Rackspace team. In addition, global partners can have access to Rackspace sales and marketing support, customer references, infrastructure monitoring and patching services, and use of the program’s interconnected data center network to offer services wherever they choose.
