This morning, Birch Communications announced that it has completed the acquisition of Ernest Communications, which includes the accounts receivable, client base and all physical assets of the organization. This acquisition will allow Birch to provide services in all 50 states, as well as Canada and Puerto Rico.

Today, the wholesale division of Birch Communications, Birch Carrier Solutions, announced the appointment of Greg Hogan as the new Director of Business Development, Wholesale Services. Hogan joins BCS from Ernest Communications, an organization that is currently undergoing acquisition by Birch.
This morning, Atlanta, GA-based telco, Tempo Telecom, announced the addition of wireless prepaid services to their offerings. Tempo Telecom, formerly known as NOW Communications, is the prepaid division of Birch Communications, Inc., a well-known telco in the Southeastern US.
Birch Communications alerted us this morning that it has signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire select customer and network assets from Lightyear Network Solutions, Inc.
As a provider of data, voice and Wi-Fi telco services to SMBs, Lightyear is expected to close this, its 18th acquisition since 2006, during Q3 this year.
Today, IP-based communications service provider, Birch Communications announced the completion of a multi-year project to expand their IP Network. The company said that they have added 15 wireless towers and 43 office collocations across five states in the southern and central US.
