Small businesses continue to change the way they procure and consume IT. In increasing numbers, they are buying their software as a service from the Cloud and moving away from traditional desktop software," said Philbert Shih, senior hosting analyst, at Tier1Research, a division of New York City-based The 451 Group.
This is creating a huge opportunity for service providers, but going it alone is not an easy or viable pathway, Shih said.

Intronis, a SAS 70-certified online backup and recovery solution for IT service providers based in Boston, MA, released an announcement on July 21 about Ted Roller who will helm Intronis’ IT channel advocacy efforts.
We were first allerted to the story by the VAR Guy blog.
Roller comes to Intronis from his previous position at itControl Solutions, where he served as president of channel development. There, he and his team aligned the company’s goals closely with the objectives of its reseller partners.

Virtual Administrator is now part of the “Kaseya On Demand Partner Program” — which gives Virtual Administrator the right to offer Kaseya’s Cloud Services — a collection of cloud-based Remote Management and Monitoring (RMM) tools.
I got on the phone to get the scoop.
The relationship between Virtual Administrator and Kaseya actually began in 2008 when Network Depot, LLC., a Washington, DC-area Managed Service Provider (MSP), started offering their own brand of Hosted Kaseya based on the version-5 platform under the Virtual Administrator name.

Could not resist bringing the following to your attention from the VAR Guy site:
CompTIA’s upcoming Breakaway 2010 channel conference has amassed a pretty interesting collection of videos on its site. Provided by sponsors, presumably as a new venue to reach CompTIA MSPs, some are spoofy, some endearing.
